Position Overview:

A Fashion Consultant helps clients discover and refine their personal style by providing expert advice on clothing, accessories, and overall appearance. They work closely with individuals, retail stores, or fashion brands to enhance image, boost confidence, and ensure clients look and feel their best while staying current with fashion trends.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess clients’ personal style, body type, lifestyle, and fashion preferences to curate tailored looks.
• Provide styling guidance for everyday wear, special occasions, photo shoots, or professional events.
• Stay up to date with current fashion trends, designers, and seasonal collections.
• Collaborate with retail staff, designers, or brands to recommend products that align with clients’ needs.
• Create mood boards, style guides, and curated wardrobe plans.
• Advise on color coordination, fabric choices, and accessories.
• Build strong client relationships through trust, discretion, and excellent customer service.
• Conduct wardrobe audits and suggest additions or removals.
• Offer shopping assistance (in-store or virtual) to maximize client convenience.
• Maintain knowledge of fashion history, cultural influences, and industry shifts.

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong knowledge of fashion trends, designers, fabrics, and styling techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong sense of creativity and visual aesthetics.
• Ability to understand diverse client needs, body shapes, and style goals.
• Experience in retail fashion, personal styling, or image consulting preferred.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple clients/projects.
• Confidence in providing honest but tactful feedback.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, or related field (preferred but not always required).
• Professional certification in fashion styling or image consulting is a plus.
• Prior experience in retail fashion, luxury sales, or personal styling is highly desirable.
